MEDICAL MARIJUANA CARDS FOR CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS Now that Proposition 64 has legalized recreational marijuana use in California, you might think this is the end of medical marijuana. Think again. The initiative is laced with restrictions, and a closer look reveals several major benefits of getting a medical marijuana card in 2018. In fact, now’s the best time to get one. Here’s why. No waiting Although adults can already legally   buy marijuana , they won’t have anywhere to purchase it until January, though that seems unlikely. From setting up a licensing system to establishing regulations, state officials have their work cut out for them. A medical cannabis card before 2018 will ensure you get marijuana today. Lower age requirement While you have to be at least 18 to get an MMJ   prescription , the minimum age for  using   cannabis recreationally is 21 . If you’re between these ages, a medicinal marijuana card is your only option. Greater dispensary access Despite l

New York State's Medical Marijuana Challenges

As NY expands medical marijuana program, few doctors in Rochester area are able to prescribe The state is expanding the list of qualifying illnesses for medical marijuana. This means more people may be interested in trying it. But, the public list of doctors willing to prescribe it locally isn't exactly long. The state maintains a website that shows which practitioners are certified to prescribe medical marijuana. In Monroe County, there are eight on that site compared to Erie and Onondaga Counties, which both have more than 25 providers. Matt Hellaby has been living with PTSD. "There are a lot of people suffering," he says. He's been interested in medical marijuana for months. "Really, just to get off the other medicine, sometimes I might sleep the whole day and I'm just tired, I don't like the side effects." He wasn't eligible until the state recently added PTSD to the list of qualifying conditions. "I was waiting, I didn

WHERE IS MARIJUANA LEGAL? PERU THE LATEST COUNTRY TO LEGALIZE Newsweek The president of Peru signed a bill on Thursday legalizing medical marijuana across the country, a historic move that came a few weeks after the Peruvian Congress voted to approve it. The legalization allows possession, sale, and transport of cannabis for medical purposes, but it’s still illegal to cultivate the plant. The government will develop a list of official importers or growers who are authorized to supply the nation’s new medical marijuana patients, who will be given prescriptions for conditions like Parkinson’s, cancer, epilepsy or other chronic or terminal illnesses. Peru is the latest Latin American nation to legalize marijuana in some form, but where else is cannabis legal? In many countries, marijuana is only legal on a strict basis. In Australia, Greece, Croatia, Israel, Poland, Mexico, Finland, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Macedonia and Italy, consumers need prescriptions

The former British protectorate has been heavily dependent on the country which completely surrounds it - South Africa. Over the decades' thousands of workers have been forced by the lack of job opportunities to find work in South African mines. And the Lesotho Highlands Water Project was completed in the 1990s to export water to South Africa.

THE NEXT “IT” INGREDIENT IN BEAUTY PRODUCTS IS MARIJUANA

By  Noël Duan When CAP Beauty launched a new dietary supplement in August, the retailer didn’t send beauty magazine editors any promotional cupcakes or cookies. Instead, they sent pot brownies. The desserts—non-psychoactive, they didn’t get anyone high—were made with CAP’s The Daily Hit, an oil-based supplement made with the cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD). CBD has been shown in pre-clinical studies to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits and, unlike other popular cannabinoids (like tetrahydrocannabinol, which  is  psychoactive), it’s legal in all 50 US states. As medical and recreational pot use becomes increasingly legalized in the United States, companies are beginning to experiment with the marijuana plant in the same way they would with other botanicals. Among beauty brands, CBD is becoming the next “it” ingredient incorporated into buzzy new products that hydrate skin, relieve swollen spots, and reduce under-eye bags. Experts say it works. Robert Dellavalle, a
